These days, the Center for Education and Socialization in Jajce received another valuable reinforcement in the volunteer team! Our new volunteer Ferdinand comes from Germany through the Weltwärts program and will be part of the COD family in the coming period.
Together with other COD volunteers, Ferdinand will work with the children and young people of Jajce, support them in the development of creativity, knowledge and skills, and contribute to their empowerment through various activities and workshops. In addition to working with young people, he will be involved in the implementation of other COD projects, with new freshness and creativity.
Meet Ferdinand:
Hello everyone!✨
My name is Ferdinand, I am 19 years old and I come from the beautiful “Christmas area” of the Erzgebirge in eastern Germany.
In 2025, I finished high school and decided to spend a year getting to know the Balkans in all its diversity, culture and history.
My goal is to build bridges through local peace work through art and political education, and to transfer these experiences back to Germany in order to contribute to the resolution of conflicts in civil society and at the local level.
I spent the first three months of my volunteer engagement in Tetovo, in North Macedonia, organized by LOJA – Center for Balkan Cooperation, where I had the opportunity to learn a lot about the work of non-governmental organizations in the Balkans🇲🇰.
I have been in Jajce since the beginning of February and I am really looking forward to getting to know the work with children and young people with a focus on building peace, as well as learning more about fascinating Bosnia and Herzegovina 🇧🇦.
I bring with me enthusiasm for teamwork, empathy and creativity, which I have already had the opportunity to apply through work in the local theater and the organization of local political projects.
I look forward to cooperation with COD Jajce and hope to meet some of you through future projects!
