As part of the Engaged democracy initiative process, launched in September last year, the first public forum and also a public presentation of the initiative “Lighting up the Western Balkans: Why democratic change will come only through citizens” will be held on April 15 from 2 to 3 p.m. view Zoom live stream.

Apart from the representatives of the EDI team, Iva Markovic (Right to Water, Serbia), Samir Beharic (Center for Education and Gathering – Jajce, Bosnia and Herzegovina) and Gresa Hasa (Shota, Albania) will speak at the public forum. The panel will discuss why democratic engagement from below is necessary for the desired changes in the Western Balkans, the challenges and opportunities for regional co-operation, including the role of women and the women’s solidarity movement in the region.
