In the next three months, Caro and Emma will be part of the COD family, and together with us they will work on empowering children and young people through creative workshops, projects and new learning methods:
-Hello everyone, my name is Emma and I am 28 years old. For the last three years, I have worked in Germany to support refugees – first in the largest reception center in Bremen, and then as a coordinator of integrative projects in a transitional institution. There I developed participatory projects for children, young people and residents, while simultaneously coordinating cooperation with volunteers, non-governmental organizations and municipal actors.
These experiences reinforced my belief that peace grows through human connection. In Jajce, I want to continue to work on this, empowering young people, encouraging networks and creating spaces for dialogue in order to develop local solutions. As an open and communicative person, I look forward to exchanging ideas and cooperating with others to create significant changes.

Hello, my name is Caroline, I am 28 years old and I come from Germany. In the last nine years, I have been politically active in the areas of social justice and environmental sustainability – both at the university and in the city where I completed my bachelor’s degree. In 2015, I worked as a volunteer service in Belgium, where I lived and worked with people with disabilities. I am currently working on a master’s degree in political science and am employed part-time in municipal cooperation projects in Germany, contributing to a more peaceful and inclusive future.
I learned a lot from my volunteer experience in Belgium and especially appreciated the international exchange, which is why I wanted to live abroad again. That is why I am very much looking forward to the opportunity to stay here in Jajce and participate in intercultural exchange. Through my many years of volunteering, I learned how important the work of non-governmental organizations is and what a necessary contribution they make to society beyond politics. That’s why I’m really looking forward to working for COD as a volunteer for the next three months, because I know how crucial it is to create meeting spaces for people and thus directly strengthen the local community.
In my free time, I like to spend time in nature, be creative, and read.
