Although it has only been a month, our volunteer Amina Hodžić is very happy to share her previous experiences from Milan, where she will spend a year volunteering in the Association that organizes creative, daily activities for people with special needs. Since her arrival, she has already visited many of the city’s famous sights, including some of the most famous squares and historical buildings. But apart from tourist research, her life in Milan is also greatly influenced by her work in the city center.

Every day, she spends about three hours working with the Center’s users, where she, together with the rest of the team, is dedicated to the work of people with disabilities. Her goal is to offer them an unforgettable and fulfilling time. He especially enjoys the many creative and fun activities they do together. They often play various social and group games, which not only provide fun but also a sense of community. It is important to her that everyone actively participates and that they feel comfortable. To that end, she often works directly with one of the users to get him or her involved in the games and maximize the fun for everyone.

In addition to games, they also offer creative projects. Together with the participants, they make various things, which for many users is a great opportunity to develop their creative side. Dancing and singing lessons are also regularly scheduled, which creates a sense of community.

Once a month they organize a special evening: pizza or a small disco party. These events are always a great success because they bring everyone together and create a happy and exuberant atmosphere. It is important to her and her team that these evenings give everyone the opportunity to relax, celebrate and simply forget about everyday life.

She also supports mentors and supervisors in planning and organizing activities. For example, it helps to structure games and creative workshops and introduce new ideas to make the program even more diverse. He works closely with his team and tries to meet the needs and wishes of all users.

In her free time, Amina enjoys exploring the city, either alone or with friends. Milan offers countless possibilities and he likes to discover new corners of the city, sit in cafes or walk through charming streets. Her free activities are as varied as her work, and she appreciates the balance between social engagement and moments when she has time for herself.

She is very satisfied with her life in Milan. Her work and the people she is surrounded by greatly enrich her everyday life. For her, it is a fulfilling experience to be part of a team that is so dedicated to the well-being of others. She considers it a great privilege to accompany these people on their journey and provide them with joy and companionship. At the same time, the work gives her a deeper meaning and the feeling that she is positively changing the lives of others. This combination of work, friendship and personal development makes her daily life in Milan a valuable and enriching time.
