Educational workshop “Feminism is for everyone” held

A workshop called “Feminism is for everyone” was held in the premises of COD Jajce, the main goal of which was to offer a clear and accessible introduction to the basic principles of feminism and to open a space for an informed discussion about the position of women in contemporary society. The workshop was led by volunteers Gaia, Caroline and Emma.

Through the presentation of key concepts, historical stages and contemporary feminist perspectives, the participants had the opportunity to see how gender roles, social expectations and everyday challenges affect women of different generations. The conversation particularly pointed to the need to strengthen mutual support, information and availability of resources dealing with equality and women’s empowerment.

Although the workshop took place in a constructive and open atmosphere, there was less response than expected. This data additionally confirms the importance of continuous work on motivating and encouraging women to use available educational and informative content that can have long-term value for their personal and professional development.

The positive feedback from the participants indicates that there is a need to continue similar programs, especially those dealing with topics such as violence prevention, gender equality and an intersectional approach to women’s rights.
