On the occasion of World Environment Day and World Ocean Day, volunteers of the Center for Education and Socialization organized a cleaning action on the coastal sites of Pliva Lake.
Even the high temperatures, which exceeded 30 degrees, did not stop our young people from cleaning three rest areas by the Pliva Lake. These locations are visited throughout the year by numerous domestic and foreign tourists, as well as local inhabitants who, unfortunately, often leave waste behind after socializing and enjoying nature.

Thus, yesterday we collected large quantities of plastic and glass bottles, cans, wrappers, tissues, plastic bags, cigarette butts and other waste that does not belong to nature.
On this occasion, we also appeal to PUK Čistoća i zelenilo to place trash cans in such localities so that visitors have a suitable place to dispose of waste. This would contribute to the preservation of the cleanliness and beauty of Pliva Lake, but also reduce the need for frequent cleaning actions organized by citizens and nature lovers.

Nature is our common home. Just as we do not throw waste in our own houses and apartments, we should not leave it in the nature that we are proud of and that we promote as one of the most beautiful pearls of our region. Let’s keep it clean, healthy and worthy of generations to come.

What we bring into nature, we should also take out of it.
