As in the past, this year COD Jajce is celebrating the Circular Economy Week – dedicated to sustainable practices, creative solutions and joint action for a healthier planet and a stronger community. For us, it is not just a concept – but the direction we want to go together with everyone who loves nature and wants to preserve a healthy environment!
Today, we will still teach young people how to repurpose, repair and preserve their bicycles, clothes, and also make some new useful things.

What is circular economy and why is it important?
Unlike the traditional model that consumes resources and creates waste, the circular economy advocates a system in which things are used longer, repaired, repurposed and recycled. This means less waste, less emission of harmful gases and greater care for the environment – but also more opportunities for creativity, togetherness and the development of local initiatives.

Join us!
As part of the Circular Economy Week, today (Thursday) at 5:30 p.m. we are organizing two practical and fun workshops for young people:
Repurposing old clothes and textiles – together we will create new items from old materials, learn how to extend the life of favorite pieces and express creativity in a sustainable way.
Bicycle Repair Training – Learn how to maintain and repair your own bicycle to extend its life and reduce the need for new purchases.
The workshops are free and open to everyone, regardless of experience or age. All you need is the will to learn something new and contribute to environmental protection.

Why is that important?
Through activities like these:
We reduce the amount of waste in our community
We give an example of responsible behavior towards nature
We connect, learn and empower each other
We create the foundations for a sustainable future

We invite all citizens of Jajce and beyond to mark Circular Economy Week in their own way and be part of positive change. Whether you come to a workshop, fix something at home instead of throwing it away, or share our tips further – every step is important.
Nothing has to be waste – with a little effort, everything can get a new value and a new life.
See you today at COD at 17:30 – bring an old t-shirt or a bicycle and come with a smile!
