n the period from March 13 to 19, 2023, the Center for Education and Socialization (COD) from Jajce hosted International Youth Meetings, which are part of a two-year project called “Open space: Learning and let learning”.

Through a series of educational and creative workshops and unconventional learning methods, young people socialized, solved problems and spread their knowledge of intercultural understanding among young people, and strengthened capacities for active participation within civil society.

The young people spent the last two days of the meeting in Sarajevo, where they were hosted by the French Institute, and they also visited Sarajevo’s museums, and learned about the events that Sarajevo and the people of Sarajevo went through during the last war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, which the group of young people strongly experienced emotionally.

The next phase of the project that precedes it is a six-month volunteer service that young people from BiH will do in France and after that, also a six-month volunteer service that this time will be done by young people from France in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The project is implemented in partnership with a French organization from the city of Metz and brings together young people from Bosnia and Herzegovina, Germany, and France within the same space.

The main goal of the project is the promotion of tolerance and intercultural understanding among young people, and the strengthening of their capacities for active participation within civil society organizations in the mentioned countries.
