An informal group of high school students, who prevented the division of schools and received recognition and the Max van der Stoel Award for it, at a formal reception in The Hague, in cooperation with the Center for Education and Gathering and the OSCE BiH, organized a summer youth camp as the last item. ” Youth summer camp ”in the period from 13.-15. August 2020 in Jajce in which young people from seven cities of BiH participated: Tuzla, Bugojno, Teslić, Stolac, Banja Luka, Donji Vakuf and Jajce.

The camp provided the participants with an unforgettable time where they had the opportunity to develop new friendships, improve communication skills, discuss current problems of young people in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and above all have fun through sports competitions, sightseeing, boat ride on Lake Pliva, and social games without the Internet and smartphones.

Also, the camp was an excellent opportunity to present what the “Max van der Stoel” award was invested in, so in the future high school students from Jajce from both high schools will work on new computer equipment (laptops, projectors, smart boards) but will also enjoy the so-called smart benches, and an environmental action was held where young people were drawn to the importance of fighting for a healthy environment and climate change that we face every day.

On this occasion, high school students did not forget about our youngest, so they decided to surprise the children from the Association “Waterfall of Love” and playroom “Ciciban” with a donation of toys, which due to the current pandemic situation to protect children will be delivered later.

The youth camp was organized and conducted in accordance with the epidemiological regulations required by the COVID 19 pandemic.
